Bas began practicing law at Baker & McKenzie in 2006 where he specialised in Dutch employment law. In 2014 Bas joined Workx advocaten as a partner.

In the course of his career Bas has also worked as in-house counsel. In 2013 he started his own employment law firm. His experience both as entrepreneur and lawyer has proven useful when assisting employers and employees.

Bas has extensive experience in all aspects of employment law. He particularly focuses on advising and litigating in individual dismissals, whistleblower cases and the assisting in reorganisations.

Bas completed the post-academic course in employment law (Post Academische Leergang Arbeidsrecht) and he is author of the SDU Practice Notes.

He is a member of the Dutch Employment Lawyers’ Association (Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Nederland) and the Amsterdam Employment Lawyers’ Association (Vereniging Arbeidsrecht Advocaten Amsterdam) and he facilitates intervision sessions.
