Heleen joined Workx Advocaten in November 2023, initially as a student trainee, then as a legal associate, and since March 2025 as a lawyer. During her law studies at Leiden University, she developed a strong interest in employment law. That interest was sparked further during an internship at a law firm in Sint Maarten, where she was first introduced to employment law in practice.
Heleen went on to complete a Master’s degree in Employment Law at Leiden University, where she conducted research on the differences between fair compensation and compensation for manifestly unreasonable dismissal. Her research led to a publication in the journal Tijdschrift Arbeidsrecht, which appeared in November 2024.
At Workx, Heleen focuses on various aspects of employment law, including dismissal cases, reorganizations, and employment conditions.
